Seventeen years ago while visiting Nantucket I read an ad for a rental property called Barntucket and went to see it. The minute I met the owner and saw what a fabulous job he had done renovating and decorating this charming place, I knew I had to stay there. It feels like home to me now and I have enjoyed coming back every year with family and friends.

Talk about exceeding expectations. Barntucket is one of our best vacation experiences. The property is absolutely beautiful and private. The meticulously restored house offers everything you could want: charm, comfort and that wonderful Nantucket lifestyle. It is exceptionally well equipped with a gourmet kitchen, lovely dining room and spacious sunroom. We hosted several chef friends including Jacques Pepin and Charles Van Over so we cooked often and partied late into the night. Barntucket is so conveniently located just a short walk to the Village and beach. The owner is the perfect host. Knowledgeable about food, wine and of course Nantucket. We vacationed at Barntucket twice and certainly will return. It is one of our favorites.

Empty-nesters still love a crowd, maybe even more so! Nothing like inviting 3 or more couples to reside, while sharing dinner with a dozen friends enjoying home cooked pleasantries in your “own” barn decorated with antiques! Lively discussions over cognac by the fire afterwards often top off the evenings.

Yep, we love Barntucket, and have been fortunate to partake of her charms both summer and winter. A short pleasant walk from downtown Nantucket, Barntucket combines rustic but comfortable environs with this unique island mini-world blending old world Sea Captains’ homes, whaling history, upscale galleries and restaurants. We enjoy maintaining our own identity ensconced within this pearl of an island; Barn + Nantucket creates Barntucket, a truly remarkable experience that you orchestrate with family and friends.

Barntucket has the ambiance and charm of "Old World Nantucket." You feel like your own little oasis with the back porch, and wonderful backyard. The house has so much warmth and charm, that you feel like it is your own summer cottage. There are very few places I visit, that I feel like the welcome mat is always extended. Barntucket is one of those places that hold such familiarity. I can’t wait to return.

I came to Nantucket for the first time in 2000 and was fortunate to have my first Nantucket experience at Barntucket. I am now a regular and return to Barntucket at least once a year and sometimes twice. The ambience and wonderful gourmet kitchen affords one the opportunity of a fine dining experience.

Our first stay at Barntucket was over Memorial Day weekend of 1991. Since then we have had several visits to Barntucket with family and friends.

The house (barn) is beautifully appointed and decorated with lovely fabrics, comfortable places to sit and read, talk, cook and eat.

As the colors and amenities are constantly upgraded in the "barn", so are the gardens that surround the property. Each year, they change a bit and are even more enjoyable. In fact, our daughter and son-in-law became engaged in the gardens of Barntucket. This week, they are celebrating their fifth anniversary.

Barntucket is truly a magical place.

Our family of six children have been coming to Narntucket since 1991 for our summer vacation. We stay for one month each year and truly feel very much at home when we arrive at Barntucket. The furnishings and amenities are incredible, not to mention the ambiance of this historic carriage house. I would certainly recommend Barntucket to anyone who enjoys Nantucket for its' past.

We have been coming to Nantucket on vacation for many years. My wife made all the arrangements for Barntucket online. Our group consisted of our two teenage children, my sister-in-law and her husband and daughter. When we arrived we had no idea that this little gem of a house was so close to town and the beach. The accommodations were perfect and the well equipped kitchen made for some amazing meals. We look forward to our return visit.

We’ve just returned from a glorious week on Nantucket at the lovely Barntucket home!  We’ve stayed at Barntucket before and we will stay there again!!  It just keeps getting better.  From the minute you walk in you can feel the warmth of the island, the house, and the houses’ owner.  Barntucket is perfectly kept, with all the amenities a person could ask for, but more than anything, it is an exceedingly comfortable space to enjoy time with family and friends in one of the world’s most unique settings. Thank you for allowing us (and our very small children!!!) to turn our seven days away from the daily craziness into a truly relaxing vacation!
